Man with camel

A photo taken a while back in winter, just in front of our house. I like the timelessness of this subject in B&W as it could be a scene from a thousand years ago (except for the rubber boots I guess!). Everyday men with camels gather at this spot to sell the fire wood and brush they have collected from the desert. The local people use a tandoor oven to bake nan (flat round bread) and use the firewood to heat the oven. Fresh nan tastes great, I think, because of the slightly smoky flavour. Collecting firewood is a tough job though and the men often stand waiting for customers for the whole day, in cold or heat.
