Man from Chilik-e Yaz Khan
Posted by Sojourner (Aqcha, Afghanistan) on 2 October 2007 in People & Portrait.
Took this picture in the village of Chilik-e Yaz Khan while we sat down with some men, just to chat. Tried a high contrast B&W conversion on this shot.
I like looking at the people's faces and features, especially because they are such amazing survivors in a harsh climate. The encouraging thing is that we just struck a successful deep well in this village. It will change their lives in many ways as it is the first time in many years that they will have a dependable drinking water source in their own village. We'll follow up with health education and a community development program.
